The North Carolina Regional Angel Forum announced today the selection of five high tech companies that will make presentations at the inaugural Capital City Angel Forum at the Raleigh Capital City Club on November 16, 2004.

“We are delighted with the quality of our companies,” said Tom Vass, the organizer of the forum and President of the Corporate Investment Center, Inc., of Raleigh. “Each of them has very promising technology and excellent market prospects, and we hope that local accredited investors will come to the event and listen to their stories.”

The North Carolina Regional Angel Forum holds informal monthly social meetings of accredited investors and private companies who are seeking capital. The format for each meeting includes a preliminary 60-minute networking time with wine and food, where the presenting companies can meet potential investors in a social setting. The sponsors and professional service providers such as CPAs and attorneys can also use this networking time to meet the companies and angels. Presenting companies and sponsors are featured in a special advertising section on Local Tech Wire to achieve higher media visibility.

“We were very encouraged by the response of local law firms and accounting firms to our invitation to exhibit at our forum,” said Lea Strickland, the President of F.O.C.U.S. Resources, Inc., a co-sponsor of the event. “We want to create an open environment where all interested parties can support the growth of the high tech companies in the RTP, and where the benefits of technological innovation and economic growth are spread to the entire business community.”

David Chapman, founder and CEO of 919 Marketing, and a co-sponsor of the event said, ” We want to throw a big net to as many sources of capital as we can find in order to create a new diverse private capital market environment where companies have a maximum opportunity to achieve funding success. Our success for this event must be measured in terms of the success of companies that obtain capital to fund their growth.”
