China Telecom will use network gear from Cisco as the core technology for its new national Internet Protocol network, the companies said Friday.

Cisco has signed contracts worth more than $100 million with China Telecom in the past six months.

The China Telecom Internet Protocol Next-Generation Network, or CN2, will link more than 200 cities and be used to offer a variety of services to corporate customers, the companies said.
