Relativity and IBM are expanding their working relationship in the enterprise application modernization marketplace by integrating two products.

Relativity announced Tuesday that it has created a “bridge” that will enable its Modernization Workbench applications to interface with IBM’s WebSphere Asset Analyzer.

“As a result, organizations can more quickly focus modernization efforts on the areas that require the most attention, and then more efficiently execute on these requirements – better aligning their systems with their business needs,” Peter Mollins of Relativity tells Local Tech Wire.

IBM’s Global Services group has been working with Relativity on enterprise application modernization projects since June of 2003.

The integration of the products will enable companies to use information gathered by the WebSphere application to be “passed through” the bridge to Relativity’s toolset “allowing analysts to dive more deeply into analyzing and modernizing these enterprise applications,” Mollins says.

Relativity CEO Steve Maysonave described the collaboration as producing “the first step in an enterprise application modernization solution.”

“With the detailed insight into the application portfolio provided by this integration, users have the basis not only to decide where changes should be made but also to efficiently execute them,” he added.

IBM said the integration would enable enterprises to get “more value from their existing software assets.”
