WASHINGTON,The national trade association that represents much of the wireless and Internet industry has a new name.
The Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association is now CTIA-The Wireless Association.
The change was approved by the group’s board at the CTIA’s major trade and entertainment show last week and announced Wednesday.
“Successful organizations build and maintain strong brand images,” said Steve Largent, a former NFL star and Congressman who is the CTIA-The Wireless Association president and CEO. “We have worked hard over the past year to create a strong, recognizable and positive corporate image for the wireless industry. Today, I’m pleased to report our success.”
