Yasuo Matsumoto has been named president of Ultimus’ operations in Japan.

Ultimus is a developer of business process management software.

Also on Monday, Ultimus released its Adaptive Discovery technology and a new release of its BPM suite. Ultimus describes its adaptive technology as a new approach to BPM, enabling companies to deploy automated solutions in an accelerated fashion.

“Ultimus’ patented Adaptive Discovery technology enables automated processes to be deployed without requiring that the process be fully mapped and defined prior to implementation,” the company said in a statement. “Instead, process experts use real process cases to discover routing needs and exception handling requirements, defining new business flows and rules on the fly. The process ‘learns’ from these changes, ensuring the process gets ‘smarter’ and more streamlined as it is used. Adaptive Discovery is also flexible. It allows rules and flows to be defined prior to deployment and changes to be made to any rule quickly and easily.”

In Japan, Ultimus has won customers such as Hewlett-Packard Japan, Ltd., Babcock-Hitachi K.K, Adecco Ltd., Koito Manufacturing Co. Ltd., TYCO Healthcare Japan, Nippon Sherwood Medical Industries Ltd. and Optrex.

Matsumoto worked as a systems engineer and a manager for international marketing operations for IBM Japan for 24 years.
