Summit Systems, a provider of electrical systems technology, is spinning off its network services division as a separate company.

The new organization is called United Technology Group. It will offer a variety of networking, application and telephony services.

“Based on the successes of the Network Services Division since its inception in 1999, we decided to spin it off as a separate organization with dedicated management, resources and focus,” said Eric Dykes, President of United Technology Group. “The divestiture will allow us to continue to enhance the customer experience by providing more targeted resources to our customers and our technical staff.”

United and Summit have signed a long-term agreement for mutual support and sharing of resources. They will maintain separate offices in Buford, GA.

Specific technology practices will include converged networking, Internet Protocol telephony, enterprise systems and networking operating systems with emphasis on tackling messaging, spam, viruses and spyware.
