Several representatives of China-based biotech and pharmaceutical firms are in the Triangle this week to talk with potential business partners.

The delegation is hosting a lunch on Friday at the Embassy Suites in Cary.

The group represents the CBP (China Beijing Bioengineering & Pharmaceutical Industrial Park), a life science economic zone in Beijing.

“CBP is visiting similar areas, like the RTP, in North America on a friendship tour to develop mutually beneficial relationships with organizations that have similar missions,” the group said in a statement.

Stops are also planned in Toronto, Ontario, Princeton NJ and San Francisco. It is the group’s first trip to a Western country.

Two members of the delegation do have North Carolina ties.
Bing Zhuo: President of GSETS, a biopharmaceutical company, attended Kenan Flagler Business School.

Ying Liu, vice president of marketing at AsiaBizCo, holds a BS in economics and an MBA from UNC and Kenan Flagler. She lived in Cary for several years and worked for IBM.
