BellSouth’s RealPages will become the first yellow pages publisher to become a seller of Google advertising under terms of an agreement announced Thursday.
The ads will be marketed to small and medium local businesses.
The Google AdWords targets web-based ads based on markets, addresses, and other criteria as part of search engine marketing.
The local paid search advertising market was $45 million in 2003, according to The Kelsey Group data cited by BellSouth. Kelsey projects the market to reach $2.5 billion by 2008.
