The Council for Entrepreneurial Development is moving its annual venture capital conference from RTP to Pinehurst in 2005.

The conference is set for April 26-27 and will take place at the Pinehurst Resort.

Reasons for the move include showcasing other parts of the state’s economy and also broadening appeal to investors, a spokesman for CED tells Local Tech Wire.

“Pinehurst provides an extraordinary opportunity for current and ‘new to North Carolina’ investors to get to know the nation’s most innovative entrepreneurial companies and to connect with leaders of the Research Triangle’s robust entrepreneurial and technology community,” said Monica Doss, president of the CED, in a statement. “The combination of great investment opportunities and the unparalleled hospitality of Pinehurst’s world renowned resort will ensure an interactive and memorable experience for investors and entrepreneurs alike.”

The CED is now accepting applications from companies seeking to make presentations. The first deadline is Nov. 30. Others are set for Dec. 31 and Jan. 31.
