Motricity’s eReader — software for the reading of ebooks on handheld devices, is the winner of best electronic book reader in Pocket PC magazine’s best software awards.
Motricity’s product was selected by experts in Windows mobile applications. The award was announced Tuesday at the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) wireless and entertainment conference in San Francisco.
Motricity was known as PowerByHand until Monday when the name was changed as part of a new marketing initiative and round of venture funding.
The eReader can be used on Windows Mobile, Palm and Symbian devices plus Windows-equipped and Macintosh computers.
Winners were named in 107 categories.
