The North Carolina Electronics and Information Technologies Association and US Representative Howard Coble have secured a $250,000 federal grant for Liberty Elementary School in Randolph County.

The funds will be used by the NCEITA Education Foundation to build a technology demonstration project.

The grant will be announced at the school in Liberty, NC, on Friday.

The technology demonstration project will include hardware, software and other supplies for the school. Teachers also will be required to take 50 hours of training from ExplorNet for integration of technology into the classroom.

It is the latest in a series of such grants NCEITA has secured.
