IBM and Cisco Systems are broadening their security alliance to offer new automatic security applications for enterprise networks.

IBM Tivoli security policy compliance software will be integrated with Cisco network admission control technologies, the goal being to enable enterprises to automatically quarantine and remediate devices linked to the network.

“The collaboration offers preventative, self-protecting solutions that help users automatically control who and what is given access to the network based on enterprise-0wide security policies,” the companies said in a statement, “helping companies trim the time employees and IT staff spend recovering from computer security attacks and lapses.”

The solution includes IBM Tivoli’s Security Compliance Manager and Provisioning Manager applications.
