Bob Long, an accounting executive who has lived in Charlotte since 1994, is the new head of the Transaction Services practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Carolinas.

Long has also been named a partner in the firm.

PwC says Long will work with clients in efforts to raise and deploy capital through acquisitions, divestitures, alliances and initial public offerings.

“During my years in Charlotte, I’ve seen enormous growth in opportunities for companies doing business in this region,” Long said in a statement. “For the past two years, North Carolina has ranked among the top ten U.S. states in terms of total venture capital raised and deals completed. By expanding the Transaction Services function for the Carolinas as a whole, we are linking the specialists in this office with dedicated deal teams operating from 15 other U.S. cities and some 90 locations in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. That’s a powerful combination.”
