Responding to growing customer demand, Synthematix is expanding its management team and increasing its office space.

The developer of chemistry reaction planning and knowledge management systems named John Bob as director of sales support and Hugh Allen as director of software development.

“This team and office expansion was driven by the addition of new customers and by our continued commitment to staying on the cutting edge of electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) technology,” said Steve Jones, CEO of Synthematix, in a statement.

The Synthematix office is located in the Imperial Center.

Bobo was chief scientist at Closure Medical before joining Synthematix. A holder of a PhD, he has done extensive chemistry research in the medical field and has been issued six U.S. patents.

Allen was president and founder of DesignTec Software in Cary with an emphasis on web-based software development using Java and open source software.

“John and Hugh bring vast amounts of industry experience and knowledge to Synthematix,” Jones said. “As part of our team, they will further ensure that we continue delivering the best in ELN technology.”
