E-Mate Enterprises has received two US patents for its conversion technology that turns faxes and other documents into e-mail.

E-Mate’s applications enables users to send hardcopy to e-mail recipients through fax machines or other devices. The company now has four US patents, and others are pending.

E-Mate estimates that its technology would work with more than 100 million devices worldwide.

The technology was developed by Mark Bloomfield, who also founded E-Mate.

An adapter developed by E-Mate takes documents that have been digitized by a scanner or fax and sends them as email by adding email addressing capabilities to the originating machine. The data is sent to an E-mate enabled messaging server for distribution.
