IBM has joined the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of North Carolina and will help chamber members deal with pressing business issues, the Chamber says.

In 2003, IBM sponsored a summer camp for girls of the Lumbee tribe who were interested in pursuing technology careers.

IBM also will participate in the Chambers’ Intra-Member Counseling program. Members seeking confidential help are matched with a counselor that has experience in the particular subject field where the member needs assistance.

“We are pleased to support the efforts of AICCNC and recognize the chamber’s outstanding contributions to American Indian businesses in our state,” said David Benevides, IBM Regional Director of Corporate Community Relations and Public Affairs.
