Cingular customers can now get access to traffic reports, weather updates, maps and also track expenses through a series of new offerings from several application providers.

“The availability of these applications marks another step in Cingular’s leadership in mobile content by giving Cingular customers the latest wireless capabilities to stay even more connected, informed and mobile,” said Jim Ryan, vice president of data product management and business marketing.

The new services include:

  • Mobile MapQuest from Vindigo for interactive color maps and directions

  • Tele Atlas, a provider of digital maps and traffic information

  • My-Cast weather information from Digital Cyclone

  • Personal productivity tools, such as expense and mileage tracking and “Mobile Checkbook” from Handango

    • Cingular offers a variety of service packages through Media.net.
