I.T. managers are beginning to give voice over IP (VoIP) serious consideration as an effective method for giving the enterprise next-generation communication capabilities while paying for itself over time, NewsFactor reports. But executives should take into consideration other factors beyond costs.
Companies need to compare apples to apples when it comes to VoIP warranty and maintenance costs, Gartner’s Jay Lassman tells NewsFactor. “Don’t just look at the cost of the platform itself; take a step back and look at what the projected cost of the whole package will be over three to five years.”
