Concurrent Computer Corporation and Alcatel are teaming up to provide video-on-demand services to broadband providers.

The companies said they had developed jointly an integrated solution that permits TV and video-on-demand services for digital subscriber line (DSL) users.

The partnership was announced at the International Broadcasting Convention in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

There are more than 73 million DSL users worldwide.

Concurrent, which is based in Atlanta, already has 87 commercial deployments for its MediaHawk on-demand solution.
