AMD says software vendors Novell, Red Hat and Sun have pledged support for its next-generation dual-core computer chips, NewsFactor reports.
The new chip, which is scheduled for release next year, is a version of AMD’s Opteron product and has two processing units. It is designed primarily for corporate computing applications, including databases, Web services and financial transactions.
