David Taylor is the new vice president for medical and safety as well as chief medical officer at Salix Pharmaceuticals.
Taylor served as research professor in the department of international health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. He also has served in the US Public Health Service and the US Army.
Previous positions include: Acting Director of the Division of Communicable Diseases and Immunology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR); Clinical Director, Department of Enteric Infections, Division of Communicable Diseases and Immunology WRAIR; and Adjunct Professor of Preventative Medicine/Biometrics, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
Salix said Taylor had worked with Salix in the past in development of its Xifaxan drug.
