Editor’s note: Charlotte Beat is a regular feature on Wednesdays.Doug Elix, senior vice president and group executive for IBM’s Global Services, will launch the new series of programs for the Charlotte Chamber’s Information Technology Charlotte Speaker Series.
Elix, who joined IBM in 1969, took over as head of the Global Services group in 1999. Before that he led the Global Services unit for the Americas and also served in management positions for the Australia and Asica/Pacific markets.
Elix will speak on Sept. 16 at the Marriott City Center, 100 West Trade Street, The program begins at 11:30 AM.
Future speakers include Anne Mulcahey, chairman and CE of Xerox, on October 28, and Ellen Kitzis, executive vice president for the Americas, at Gartner.

Fidelity Investments picks RolloverSystems
Fidelity Investments is the latest firm to begin offering Individual Retirement Account rollover services from RolloverSystems. Rollover also offers 401K services.
Fidelity Investments is the nation’s largest mutual fund company and top provider of 401(k) plans and services.
