Vocalocity, a developer of software for telephony, is one of 11 sponsor members for the VoiceXML forum.

As part of its participation, Vocalocity said its chief architect, Ken Rehor, has been named to the Forum’s board of directors. Rehor was a pioneer of the Forum when he worked at Lucent, Vocalocity said.

The Forum was launched by AT&T, IBM, Lucent Technologies and Motorola in 1999 for the purpose of promoting Voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML) as the standard for making Internet content accessible via voice and the phone. It includes more than 320 members.
