PowerByHand, a provider of mobile content solutions, has purchased Mobile2Day.de, a European mobile content portal.
PowerByHand said the acquisition will help it expand coverage into Europe and that it will open an office in Munich, Germany.
The German-based firm has more than 6,000 applications that will be included into PowerByHand’s offerings as well as local content. More than 1,000 developers work with Mobile2Day.de.
“With the acquisition of Mobile2Day.de, PowerByHand is well-positioned to take advantage of the tremendous growth in the European market and expand our global leadership even further,” said Ryan Wuerch, CEO of PowerByHand, in a statement. “Approximately 30 percent of the visitors to our sites are from outside of the United States. This acquisition will provide those customers with localized sites and mobile content to better meet their needs.”
