Charles Giancarlo is the new chief technology officer at Cisco Systems but will retain his title as president of Cisco’s Linksys business unit, the company says.
The global government solutions group, which is based in RTP, will report to Giancarlo. The group is led by Greg Akers, senior vice president of global government solutions.
That group previously reported to the operations, processes and systems group.
Giancarlo had led the security technology and switches groups as well.
Jayshree Ullal now heads security. Luca Cafiero leads the switching unit.
