NDL will release an updated version of its 3D engine for high-end PC and other interactive games.

Gamebryo 1.2 will be released in October, the company said Wednesday. It will include upgrades in its animation system and creation tools.

“We continue to innovate and evolve our flexible graphics engine and tools based on the feedback we receive from all of our customers,” said John Austin, president and chief executive officer of NDL, in a statement. “Looking beyond this release, we are already working on features and next generation platforms for the Gamebryo release in 2005.”

Several firms have included Gamebryo as part of several recent games, including Sid Meier’s Pirates, Empire Earth. And Kohan II: Kings of War.
