The American Statistical Association has named Lisa LaVange, vice president of biostatistics and data manage at Inspire Pharmaceuticals, as a fellow.
The honor is limited to one third of one percent of membership in the ASA. She was recognized for “outstanding contributions to research, application, and development of statistical methods and software for analyzing complex surveys and clinical trials; for statistical administration in the pharmaceutical industry; and for service to the profession.” The ASA said in a statement.
The number of recipients is limited to one-third of one percent of the ASA membership. The group has more than 17,000 members in all.
LaVange has worked at Inspire since 2001. Before that, she worked at Quintiles and the Research Triangle Institute. She also is an adjunct professor in the department of biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
