‘Blackhawk Down’ Pilot and Author To Speak at NCEITA Leadership Conference

Michael Durant, the Blackhawk helicopter pilot immortalized by the movie and book “Blackhawk Down”, will be one of the keynote speakers at the NCEITA Leadership Conference.

Durant, who is retired, also wrote a book about his combat experience. His helicopter was shot down over Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1993 and he was wounded. Durant was captured and released after 11 days I captivity.

He now is director of business development for NLX, a Rockwell Collins company and a training and simulation company based in Sterling, Virginia.

Also speaking at the conference will be Ross Reck, a negotiating expert and author.

The North Carolina Electronics and Information Technology Association event will be Aug. 31-Sept. 1 at Pinehurst.
