Southeast Interactive Technology Funds is opening an office in Silicon Valley.
The venture capital firm added that Rami Elkhatib, one of its general partners, would manage the office. Elkhatib will divide his time between RTP and California, the firm said.
SE interactive said the office would help the firm build a “national network and coverage”.
Elkhatib was promoted to general partner on July 20. He has been with the firm since 2002.
Elkhatib is familiar with Silicon Valley, having worked in the region with two early stage software firms.
“Access to networks and resource clusters outside of a company’s own region, and industry and local market visibility on a national and a global level, are among the most critical resources that VCs can provide to their portfolio companies in order to help them win,” Elkhatib said in a statement. “Our Silicon Valley presence, coupled with our Research Triangle Park office will enable us to further provide this critical level of coverage and visibility.”
