RALEIGH…Nitronex Corp., a developer of gallium nitride on silicon technology, says it is now offering the wafers for sale.
The GaN-based wafers have intrinsic advantages that have made them a focus of electronic device development efforts. Used with silicon carbide and sapphire, they have reached commercialization in the LED and laser diode markets.
Nitronex says emerging markets for their product may include high temperature senors and switches, micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS), high frequency communications and radio frequency power transistors.
