CHARLOTTE–Time Warner Telecom (Nasdaq:TWTC) has installed metro Ethernet Native LAN data services at Central Piedmont Community College.

Time Warner won a three-year contract to provide CPCC the LAN services.

Jeff Thornburg, supervisor, networks and infrastructure, for Central Piedmont Community College says, “We increased our capacity 11-fold, at a reduced cost compared to our legacy T1 infrastructure.

“The SONET-based service delivery gives us the reliability we must have to meet communication service level agreements between four of our campus locations. And when our current capacity is reached, all I have to do is make a phone call to add more. I like the fact that the Ethernet handoff eliminates the need to deploy and maintain costly equipment.”
