Field2Base, a developer of wireless applications for the construction industry to be used on Table PCs, is now a partner with Microsoft.

Field2Base is one of a number of companies accepted as partners for its unfolding Table PC initiative.

The Morrisville-based startup has also named a new vice president of sales. He is Sid Cutts, who was director of sales and national accounts for Stock Building Supply. He is a graduate of UNC-CH and has 18 years of experience. He also is a builder and licensed Realtor.

Field2Base develops applications for Table PCs to utilize mobile data networks for management of construction, homebuilding, and engineering field processes plus logistics, distribution and sales force information.

“The news we are announcing today advances Field2Base on two fronts: We have received recognition and validation from Microsoft on the value of Field2Base’s software applications and we have hired a Vice President of Sales who has deep experience and contacts in the building and building products distribution sectors,” said David Lea, CEO of Field2Base. “For such a young company to be grouped by Microsoft with large, prestigious firms is a testament to our development team, and it shows why we are able to draw the kind of talent represented by Sid Cutts.”
