WILMINGTON,Colin Shannon, an executive with PPD since 1995, has been named to the new position of executive vice president for global clinical operations.
Shannon, who has been based in Cambridge, UK, will oversee clinical operations and be based in Wilmington. He has spent the past four years as chief financial and administrative officer for international operations plus executive director and chief financial officer for Europe.
“I am pleased to have someone like Colin with his leadership experience, global perspective and history with PPD overseeing our global services,” said Fred Eshelman, chief executive officer, in a statement. “Creation of this position is another important element in our strategic approach to provide quality global drug development services to meet our clients’ multinational needs. Colin’s insight and experience make him extremely well suited to fill this role.”
