MATTHEWS,CEM Corporation, a developer of microwave laboratory instrumentation, has won the 2004 research and development award from R&D Magazine.

CEM’s Odyessey System, which is billed as the world’s first microwave peptide synthesizer, was cited as the winning development. The peptides are used in drug discovery.

The company’s Voyager System was cited by the magazine last year.
CEM uses patented focused microwave technology to help produce more and purer peptides.
