CipherOptics, a developer of encryption technology, has received certification from the federal government for its technology.
The reception of the Federal Information Process Standard means that CipherOptics’ SG1001 encryption appliance meets the government’s standard for secure networking. Devices and software must be certified by an accredited independent laboratory. DOMUS IT Security laboratory, a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) accredited testing laboratory, tested the SG1001.
CipherOptics has made federal contracts a major point of emphasis. Northrop Grumman acts as a reseller for CipherOptics. The SG1001 can handle encryption at 1 gigabit speed.
