Eight business people from a variety of fields walked away with Entrepreneur of the Year awards from Ernst & Young.

Kay Wagoner, chief executive officer of Icagen, and Scott Wingo, CEO of ChannelAdvisor, were among the winners selected from candidates in both North and South Carolina. Wagon received the award in the life sciences and health services category. Wingo was the winner among technology executives.

Winners were selected by a panel of judges. They are eligible to be considered for national entrepreneur of the year awards in November.
