Source Technologies, a provider of solutions for financial transactions and business processes, is opening a software development office in Atlanta.

The expansion will be led by Snehal Vashi, the company’s vice president of software development.

New product initiatives and testing will be the focus of the operation, Source Technologies said.

“The Atlanta expansion supports Source Technologies’ overall goal of raising the bar in terms of innovation in software development and that means stepping out of our comfort zone,” Vashi said in a statement. “Atlanta offers a mature software market and more opportunities to recruit top talent, pushing the envelope for ourselves as well as the entire industry.”

Vashi founded two high tech firms in Atlanta — Simtrex, a developer of customer relationship management software, and Zebrasoft, a developer of shrink-wrap retail software. He also is a member of The Indus Entrepreneurs in Atlanta, recently served as an advisor to the Atlanta Technology Development Center, and is involved in the Technology Association of Georgia.

Miles Busby, president of Source Technologies, was one of eight Ernst & Young Entrepreneurs of the Year in the Carolinas.
