IBM’s ThinkPad notebook computer, which was introduced in 1992, is the first product to be named to PC World’s World Class Hall of Fame.

PC World hands out World Class Awards on an annual basis and launched the hall of fame to honor products that “consistently exhibited world class properties over many years.”

IBM also received the World Class Award for the ThinkPad X40, which won in the “ultraportable notebook” category.
