PITTSBORO,Biolex is moving toward a limited “scale-up” of the first therapeutic protein it has been developing for Centocor, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson.
The companies have also entered into an agreement to research a fourth possible therapeutic protein. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Centocor has the option to have Biolex manufacture the proteins.
Biolex and Centocor currently are researching three proteins, using the Lex System from Biolex which is based on the lemna aquatic plant.
