Paramount Parks, a division of Viacom, has selected Peak 10 to provide IT infrastructure hosting and managed services at Peak 10’s Charlotte data center.

In doing so, Paramount Parks decided to relocate its Internet infrastructure to Charlotte from Seattle. The company said it also was consolidating its IT infrastructure.

Paramount Parks operates five theme parks across the United States, including Carowinds in Charlotte.

“When we decided to consolidate our online presence into one location, we sought a partner that could deliver a high level of service and reliability,” said David Burkart, vice president of technology for Paramount Parks, in a statement. “Peak 10’s facility is impressive but it’s their people that really set them apart. Their team’s responsiveness, expertise and can-do attitude are refreshing.”

Jim Rein, vice president of applications for Paramount Parks, said the move went well.

“Large-scale technology migrations are susceptible to a myriad of issues and problems associated with people, processes and tools,” he said. “We are fortunate to have assembled a team of people internally and from our partners at Peak 10 and Viva Technology that worked well together to make this critical transition a success.”

Peak 10 operates data centers in Charlotte, Research Triangle Park, Jacksonville and Tampa, Fl. It has announced the intention of adding a fifth center.
