Cree (Nasdaq: CREE) is expanding its product line with two new light emitting diodes that are green in color.
The company said the lights are brighter while also consuming less power. Cree said likely markets are traffic lights and other signage.
“We continue to respond to our customers’ requirements for thinner and brighter LEDs with a lower forward voltage,” said Mike Dunn, vice president of optoelectronicsat Cree, said in a statement. “We continue to respond to our customers’ requirements for thinner and brighter LEDs with a lower forward voltage. These new products offer our customers exciting opportunities to target new applications and greater penetration into the white LED market.”
