RESEARCH TRIANGLE–Red Hat (Nasdaq:RHAT) says it has named DLT Solutions Inc. of Herdon, VA as its public sales partner.

Red Hat says it selected DLT to sell its software in the public sector because of its “strong performance selling in the government market.”

Red Hat says DLT will lead its sales efforts to federal, state and local government sectors.

“Government sales has been a rapidly emerging market for Red Hat as
customers have begun to demand a more secure and cost-effective option in operating systems,” said Alex Pinchev, executive vice president of global sales at Red Hat.

Red Hat notes that it recently completed a critical certification process for its Enterprise Linux 3 product. Coupled with the National Security Agency adopting the Linux operating system for computer security research, these two factors are expected to drive additional demand from security organizations within government sectors.
