Verso Technologies, an integrated communications solutions company, has released a software version of its NetSpective Internet content filtering solution.

Like its appliance-based counterpart, the NetSpective software-based solution offers a tiered maintenance schedule that delivers the same feature set.

The new software, Verso says, will enable the Atlanta-based company to penetrate the largely untapped market of millions of small businesses, Internet cafes and kiosks, libraries and educational institutions worldwide with less than 500 end-users.

“Increasingly, enterprises of all sizes are challenged to protect themselves against the growing threats of viruses, spyware and hackers, among others, that have become the new reality as the Internet continues to proliferate virtually every aspect of today’s business environment,” said Verso Chairman and CEO Steve Odom. “After the overwhelmingly positive market response to our launch last year of NetSpective’s unique, option-based pricing structure, we are excited to now offer this same flexibility to the price-sensitive lower end of the market.”
