RF Micro Devices, a provider of proprietary radio frequency integrated circuits for wireless communications applications, has received a patent for its method of integrated power control, which is based on collector voltage.

The company’s integrated power control technology is featured in all of RF Micro’s GSM/GPRS PowerStar power amplifier (PA) modules, which have integrated power control.

“We are honored to receive this patent for our breakthrough integrated power control technology, which revolutionized power control in handsets and established the industry benchmark for all PA modules,” said Joe Grzyb, RF Micro’s general manager of power amplifier products. “In the coming quarters, RF Micro Devices will introduce new products with greater levels of integration, performance and functionality that will continue to showcase the intrinsic value of our intellectual property and design expertise, while providing our customers a superior solution.”
