The Weather Channel is launching a new, customizable version for visitors to its home page, weather.com.

Now, in addition to presenting a national view of current weather conditions, the website of the Atlanta-based organization will deliver a local outlook to users who elect to customize their page.

The new home page was developed in response to direct feedback from weather.com’s visitors, who expressed views not uncommon among Internet users. A recent report by Forrester Research found that 44 percent of online users have personalized a web page to meet their specific needs.

The customized home page of weather.com launches in conjunction with design changes throughout the entire site. In addition to these site-wide updates, the new home page includes three highly-specialized features: “My City,” “My Weather Watchlist,” and “My Dates.”
