Strategic communications firm Capstrat has hired Todd Coats as director of its creative group and Steven Keith as head of its interactive communications division.

Coats is former manager of creative communications for GlaxoSmithKline, where he oversaw branding projects. He will oversee day-to-day activities of Capstrat’s creative group, including development of branding, advertising, design and creative strategy.

Previously, Coats worked at FGI Advertising and Design, where his clients included TCI Cable, Central Carolina Bank, Hanes and Volvo Penta.

Keith joins Raleigh-based Capstrat as director of interactive communications, focusing on bringing interactive strategy experience to client projects. He recently moved to North Carolina from Chicago, where he co-founded Gorilla Polymedia Inc.

Keith has developed interactive strategy for clients such as Newell Rubbermaid, Kohler, Bank of America, Chicago Mercantile Exchange, the Sci-Fi Channel, Morgan Stanley and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
