BellSouth has expanded the distribution network for, its online yellow pages directory, to include web-enabled cell phones and other mobile devices.

Through an agreement between Atlanta-based BellSouth and go2 Directory Systems, a provider of local information over wireless devices, will provide advertiser listings for most major wireless carriers in the United States.

The deal includes Cingular Wireless, BellSouth’s joint venture with SBC Communications, as well as other carriers. Financial terms were not disclosed. advertisers will receive content placement throughout go2’s online, wireless and mobile phone distribution network in the Southeast. The company provides one-touch calling, turn-by-turn directions, and other information about customers.

“The Real Yellow Pages and from BellSouth is the proven ‘find it’ medium for consumers who are ready to buy,” said Charles Stubbs, president of intelligent media ventures and VP of strategy for BellSouth Advertising and Publishing. “Through distribution arrangements like this one, we are able to give advertisers maximum exposure to these consumers, providing them the greatest possible return on their investment.”

Stubbs estimates will point buyers to its advertisers more than 200 million times in 2004.
