RF Micro Devices has been recognized by Market Intelligence Center (MIC) as Taiwan’s leading provider of power amplifiers (PAs) for wireless handsets.

According to a report titled “The Taiwanese Mobile Phone Industry: 2003 and Beyond,” MIC estimated that RF Micro’s market share in Taiwan grew from 23 percent in the fourth quarter of 2002 to 73 percent in the fourth quarter of 2003.

In the year-over-year comparison, MIC estimated that Greensboro-based RF Micro increased its share of the Taiwanese PA market from 18 percent in calendar 2002 to 64 percent in calendar 2003.

“The MIC report underscores the strength of our Taiwanese customer support team and the outstanding value proposition of our PA products–,” said Eric Creviston, corporate vice president of wireless products at RF Micro. “–We are very appreciative to our customers in Taiwan for their continuing business.”

Creviston added that RF Micro’s success in Taiwan has helped propel the company to a global PA market share of approximately 50 percent.
