Oculan says it is now shipping new releases for two of its products, the OcuGuard security/traffic appliance and the OcuSys systems management appliance for Microsoft Windows servers and workstations.
For security management, the OcuGuard 4.0 appliance provides an intrusion detection sensor within a re-architected intrusion management system. It provides autonomous administration capabilities like “smart” auto-updates of signature files, and adds a built-in reporting interface and notification engine.
The other new Oculan release, OcuSys 2.0, delivers the ability to manage up to 50 Microsoft Windows Server platforms and 500 Windows desktops.
“The distinguishing value of Oculan’s technology is that it delivers enterprise-level management tools at a fraction of the cost and complexity of the alternatives available in the market,” said Shane O’Donnell, chief technical officer for Oculan. “The new OcuGuard and OcuSys releases take that value to the next level, packing ever-increasing functionality into our security management and systems management platforms with no increase in price for the customer.”
