Local Tech Wire and ClearImage announced today that Tim Tompkins of Grant Thornton is serving as the 2004 Chairman of the TechExec steering committee.

Created by Local Tech Wire and ClearImage, the TechExec is a quarterly “invitation-only” executive level networking event for RTP area business and thought leaders.

The next TechExec will be hosted the evening of March 15th at the NC Biotechnology Center.

“The TechExec is one of the premiere executive level events in the RTP area,” said Tompkins, who is vice president of Business Development for Grant Thornton. “Because of the relaxed, professional environment, the TechExec has become a preferred venue to meet and learn more about other leading executives in this region.”

“We are thrilled to have Tim serve as chairman of the RTP TechExec steering committee,” said Rick Smith, managing editor and founder of Local Tech Wire. “This event has grown tremendously over the past year. Under Tim’s leadership, we hope to take the TechExec to the next level in 2004.”
